Dr. Luana Gabriela Badea completed her undergraduate degree and post-graduate courses in her native Romania and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2010. She continued her education by completing a residency in Advanced General Dentistry at the same school. She distinguished herself professionally by pursuing the AGD Fellowship Award and earning her Fellowship in 2016, an award won by only 6% of dentists nationwide.
The Central Texas Academy of General Dentistry in Austin recognized Dr. Badea as the 2017 New dentist of the Year for outstanding leadership and services, and Dentist of the Year in 2023.
This award is considered the most prestigious honor a dentist in Texas can earn.
She served as the president of the Greater Austin AGD in 2022-2023, the director of the New Dentist Study Club, and a board member of the Texas AGD Membership Committee, and mentors students at Westlake High School who are considering careers in dentistry. She serves the Junior League in San Antonio and Austin.
Dr. Badea feels blessed to be a dentist and she treats each patient as a family member providing comprehensive care. Dr. Badea has learned that the technical and artistic skills a dentist develops through participation in the continuing education programs will, of course, enrich the lives of patients. But the relationship that results between the dentist and the patient is what both will remember.
Dr. Badea loves the arts, the theatre and especially live music. She enjoys outdoors, traveling and adventurous hiking in the Andes or Alps or chasing the Northern lights in Alaska. She speaks English, Romanian, French, Spanish and Texan!!
